Ultra Luxury Equipped Lexus LS 430 with 96k Miles
Contents
For August 9, 2021, our used car find is this well-kept 2001 Lexus LS 430 with the coveted Ultra Luxury package and just 96k miles. It’s offered on Craigslist by a private seller in the Wilmington North Carolina area for $16,000 or best offer.
Here’s what makes this one special.
The Listing
The third generation LS sedan debuted for the 2001 model year, improving on prior versions of the Lexus flagship in almost every way. As we note in our LS 430 buyer’s guide, it was “larger, faster, and more luxurious than any Lexus to come before.”
That’s especially true of this particular example, which boasts the rare Ultra Luxury package. This $12,500 option adds a host of desirable goodies, like an adjustable air suspension, climate-controlled front seats, adaptive cruise control, soft-close doors, laminated side window glass, power-adjustable and heated rear seats, rear seat audio and climate controls, and even a rear seat refrigerator.
Thanks to excellent caretaking by its two prior owners, this LS 430 looks showroom fresh inside and out. These cars are known to rack up hundreds of thousands of miles with ease, which means this one, with not quite 100,000 on the clock, has tons of life left.

Documented purchase price in 2001 was $65K. Asking $16000 cash for this gem.
We actually advise against the Ultra Luxury package in our buyer’s guide because its air suspension can be costly to repair. However, the seller reports that this car has a fresh set of OEM air shocks in the rear, so it shouldn’t be a major worry here. (Still you’ll want to have a specialist evaluate the whole car before you plunk down any cash.)
The $16,000 asking price is on the high side for an LS 430 with nearly 100,000 miles. But considering its condition and equipment, that’s not unreasonable.
If you’ve been coveting a great third-gen LS with the Ultra Luxury package, we have three words for you. Go for it!
